The Flemish government will host the Global India Business Meeting 2012 in Antwerp
The Flemish government will host the Global India Business Meeting 2012 in Antwerp, the city of diamond on 24-25 June 2012. The two day high level business
summit will be attended by more than 300 CEOs from India, Europe and other parts Asia, Gulf countries and from North America. The summit is also aimed
at strengthening the Belgo-India trade and economic relations and will offer opportunities for business collaboration in the two countries Although it
is hoped that the global economic situation will improve in the next few months by the time the event is held, the business summit however will take place
in the midst of global economic uncertainty, ever unfolding Eurozone economic crisis and challenges faced by Indian business leaders on doing business
with Europe. The summit will therefore assume special significance as to how Indian and global business can join together to avoid economic recession
and how global business leaders address this challenges. This is the fourth such meeting being organised by Horasis focusing India, and is one of the
most important trade and investment events outside India. The Antwerp event is being organised by Horasis, a global visions community which is committed
to enact visions for a sustainable future and which provides a unique platform for companies from emerging and developed markets to globalize their organizations.
Europe India Chamber of Commerce (EICC) is the man collaborator of the Horasis event and is coordinating with Flanders Investment and Trade and other
local Chambers.
Global India Business Meeting 2011 was held in Naples on 26-27 June and EICC played an important role in the organization of the event. The GIBM 2011
had called upon the Indian government to accelerate the pace of economic reforms and take into consideration the inclusive growth to enable the vast majority
of Indians to participate in the globalization process. The meeting had helped define Indian firms’ global growth agenda as Indian CEOs met with their
global counterparts to discuss and create new models of cooperation. Prominent senior executives from leading international organizations provided insight
on a range of topics including Managing Risks, Reviving Economic Growth. Select group of global leaders had gathered to create powerful platform for cooperation
between India and the rest of the world. They discussed Indian firms’ growing impact on global business.
The business sessions of the Summit will be followed by a Special Session: Flanders – Your Gateway for Doing Business in Europe. The subjects and themes
of the other sessions include Monitoring Economies of Transition; Flourishing the ‘Indian Spring’; Tapping Resources and Potentials of the Indian Diaspora.
India and World Economic Outlook will be theme of the Opening Plenary. Themes of the Boardroom Dialogue Sessions include: Managing Investments in India;
Entrepreneurship Imperative; Exploring the Future of Financial Services; Infrastructure for Growth and Development; Indian Firms Investing Overseas: An
Integrated Vision; Renewable Energy: Made in India – Made in Belgium; Making ‘Made in India’ a Preferred Tag; Technology and Innovation: The Next Wave;
Education: Spearheading the Future; The Diamond Industry: Featuring Indo-Belgian Joint Success. Closing Plenary will focus on An Action Plan for the Next
Three Years.
